Santiago
In the rural countryside, 18-year-old Santiago toils in the fields under the scorching sun, feeling trapped by the cyclical life of farming passed down through generations. His father, Danilo, embodies tradition, insisting that hard work and roots are the only truths. But Santiago’s restless spirit is stirred when his free-spirited friend Luca returns, regaling him with tales of travel and freedom. As tensions rise during a strained family dinner, Santiago confronts his father, questioning the inevitability of his predetermined path.
The film takes inspiration from a very brought array of great artist that influenced my creative process: from the astonishing open field view of Michelangelo Antonioni to the surrealist feelings of certains scenes like Federico Fellini.
The movie was shot with a single anamorphic lens, choice made to force myself into creating frames without relying on technicality; every frame has a story to tell.
